Kishore Biyani Biography 
Kishore Biyani is a businessman, entrepreneur and chief executive officer (CEO) of Future Group which runs chains of large discount department stores and warehouse stores across India. Big Bazaar and Brand Factory are two leading retail service chains belonging to Future Group. Regarded as India’s mall king, Future Group has over 17 million square feet of retail space in 90 cities and 60 rural locations. His elder daughter Ashni manages the Future Ideas. Though Future Group met with crisis in 2008, he was back to track after 18 months by mobilizing his troops to slash costs and slimmed down his portfolio. He holds an honorary doctorate from Symbiosis International University. At present he is ranked by Forbes among the 50 richest Indians and 50 richest millionaires of the world.
He was born in Mumbai on August 9, 1961. He holds graduation in commerce and a post graduate diploma in Marketing Management. His group is known for the chains of retail selling of consumer goods across the country. He has co-authored one book titled, ‘It happened in India: the Story of Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Central and the Great Indian Consumer’, which is the bestseller Indian book based on business. The success story behind Big Bazaar, the crowded hypermarket model placed Biyani in the big league of players. Biyani founded Big Bazaar Pvt., Ltd and has been serving as the Managing Director of Future Retail Limited since April 1, 2005.
He has over 25 years' experience in the field of manufacturing, marketing, and retailing of readymade garments. Throughout the career he has received many honours including 'CEO of the Year - 2001', 'Most Admired Retailer of the Year - 2004' and 'E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year - Services - 2006'.
