Hemant Pandey is a Bollywood and television actor known for portraying supporting and comic roles. He is a noted theater artist too and hails from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. His noted movies include - Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Bandit Queen, Detective Naani, Sankat City, Ready, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, Badhai ho badhai, Krish, Ab ke baras, Milenge Milenge etc. He also appears as hero’s sidekick or best friend in most of his movies. He has also appeared in popular television series like Hera Pheri, Office Office, Tamanna House and Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi. His role as role of Pandeyji in TV series ‘Office Office’ made him immensely popular. Currently he plays the role of 'Ghasita' on Imagine TV's 'Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi'. In 2012 release, ‘2 Nights in Soul Valley’ he played negative role.

Since childhood he was inspired by the legendary comedian, Johny Walker. During 1990’s he was influenced a lot by Johny Lever. He has a strong theater background and is also a well-established comedian of Bollywood. He got his first break in Delhi by an NGO called Janmadhyam and Allaripu. As a comedian, Bahadur in Krrish and Tusshar Kapoor's friend, Dabbu in Mujhe kuch kehna hai are his most noticed roles. He has also worked as a standup comedian in Sony's Kahani Comedy Circus Ki.

He plays the role of "Puran Mama" in his upcoming movie, ‘Rajula’, a story of Uttarakhand. ‘Prakash Electronics’ is also set to release. Prakash Jha has announced his next project, based on the controversies on spiritual guru Asaram Bapu. The film is titled 'Chal Guru Ho Ja Shuru' and actor Hemant Pandey is to play its male lead.
