Crazy Mohan Biography

Crazy Mohan is a popular actor of Tamil known for comic appearances. He is also a playwright and scriptwriter. A few of his noted dramas as an actor and dialogue writer include - Oru Babiyin Diary Kurippu, Satellite Saamiyaar, Jurassic baby, Alaavudeenum 100 Watts Bulbum, Maadhu Mirandal, Ayya Amma Ammamma, Oru Sontha Veedu Vaadagai Veedagirathu, Meesai Aanaalum Manaivi, Madhil Mel Maadhu and Return of Crazy Thieves. He is a mechanical engineer by profession and passed out from College of Engineering, Guindy in the year 1973. His dramas were famous for satire and witty dialogues.

 
Mohan Rangachari, popularly known as Crazy Mohan was born on 16 October 1949. His first drama was written in the year 1972 when he was an engineering student at College of Engineering, Guindy. He was mentored by his classmate S. Ravi, who was the President of Tamil Manram. As soon as he completed B.Tech, he formed a drama troupe with the name 'Crazy Troupe'. This troupe performed over 200 plays and in the year 1976, changed its name to Crazy Creations'. In 1982, it again changed its name to 'Crazy Dreams'. His first play was Crazy Thieves in Paalavakkam and his troupe’s name too contained a ‘Crazy’ tag and later became a part of Mohan’s name too.

 
In 1988, Mohan founded the prominent production company 'Crazy Productions'. 'Crazy Dreams' continued its successful journey and was abandoned in the year 1994. Teleserials were made under his Crazy productions and later movies. As an actor, Mohan has worked in numerous Kamal Hassan movies. His popular movies include - Vasool Raja MBBS, Michael Madhana Kamarajan, Avvai Shanmughi, Pammal K. Sambandam, Indian and Kathala kathala. He has also appeared in Endrendrum Kadhal, Arunachalam, Jerry and a few more movies. All these roles were noted for his comic flavors, similar to satire dialogues of his own playwrights. He has also worked as the scriptwriter and dialogue writer of many Kamal Hassan movies.
