Binny Bansal Biography 
Binny Bansal the Chief Operating Officer of online company Filpcart belongs to Chandigarh. Binny graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He is the mind behind e-commerce business Flipcart the leading online business in India. Incidentally, his college mate Sachin Bansal is also one of the co-founders of the Indian online business giant Flipcart that took off in 2007.
Binny was born and raised in Chandigarh and was in the same school as Sachin, Binny was captain of the Basketball team of his school and college. The founder of Flipkart Binny loves reading books and he is a huge fan of Salman Rushdie. It will also be worth mentioning here that Sachin and Binny were named in the list of India's 100 richest people of 2015 occupying 86th spot with $1.3 billion.
Binny Bansal has also worked with Sarnoff Corporation of USA, before joining Amazon a firm that is into high-end automation projects for the defense sector of India and automobile industries based at Bangalore, where he is credited for development of a lane sensor device for cars that provides a warning sign in case of change of lanes without giving signal for the same. Binny and Sachin bought Myntra, another similar site last year with a whopping investment of Rs 2,000 crores.
Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal the former batch mates at IIT-Delhi and later colleagues at amazon.com (no relatives) started the business with an initial investment of Rs 2 lacs each and by the 2011, within four years their sales had gone up to Rs 1.5 crore a day. Incidentally Flipcart was selling 15 products per minute.
They started with the idea of selling books online with Binny as chief operating officer, as their experience with Amazon told that dealing with books was comparatively risk free and sales tax liabilities were almost nil, Binny is perhaps the most active COO in the on-line business who keeps a close watch on orders himself till the time of delivery including warehousing, logistics and customer support.
