Atlas Ramachandran Biography 
Atlas Ramachandran is an Indian businessman from Kerala, who is into jewellery business. He is the chairman of the Atlas Jewellery, who endorses his products and plays cameo roles in Malayalam movies as well. He has showrooms in India and abroad, and is also known for his association with cine world as a film producer, and has directed one film titled Holiday. His tagline “Janakodikalude Vishwasthasthapanam” to endorse his jwellers became an instant hit and immensely popular among Malayalis. However his business faced a setback following an IT raid in 2015, and he along with his daughter was arrested by the Dubai Police Force following defaults of over Rs 1,000 crores with multiple banks. He got released from UAE jail on June 9, 2018.
His real name is M. M. Ramachandran. He hails from Thrissur, Kerala born on 31 July 1941. He is married to Indira Ramachandran and the couple has two children. Ramachandran established the Atlas Group in the 1970s. He also opened a showroom in Kuwait at the same time. Since then he established more than 50 branches of Atlas jewellery group across the globe, and turned a successful businessman. He ventured into film business too, and often played brief comic roles onscreen, apart from playing himself. He also diversified his business to health care, ad studio, real estate etc since early 2000s, and he became a household name among Malayalis with his popular ad for Atlas Jewellery, where he appeared as a model.
Things were going smooth till an IT raid happened in 2015. Raids were conducted almost at the same time in 23 places across India, and I-T department suspected Rs 30-crore tax evasion by jewellery group. Later he got arrested in Dubai. He had to spend in jail for next three years, and now he has returned to business field with so many ambitions.
