Shindyanchi Chhatri is a memorial dedicated to Mahadji Shinde, a great soldier who served as the commander in chief of the Maratha army from 1760 to 1780. There is a temple in its complex that he himself built in 1784 and this was dedicated to Lord Shiva. The whole complex was built by Madhavrao Sindhia in 1965 together with his Samadhi. The architectural elegance is the real attracting feature here.
