Saras Baug is one of the important landmarks of Pune spreading over an area of 25 acres of land and there was a lake here at this place which now has been dried up. There is a Ganesh temple here also called Talyatla Ganpati. This temple was constructed in 1750 by Sawai Madhavrao Peshwa and Mahadji Shinde and was completed in 1784. It was renovated in 1842 and then in 1969. Peshwe Park was established here with a zoo which later shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park. There is a small museum with idols of Lord Ganesha within the premises of the temple established in 1995.
