Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum contains the personal collection of Dr. Dinkar G. Kelkar and this he has dedicated to his only son named Raja who died tragically. The building of the museum has three stories and has many sculptures dating back to 14th century. It has many ornaments that are made of ivory, silver, gold, musical instruments and war weapons. Over a period of four decades from 1920, more than 15,000 objects were collected and in 1962 Dr. Kelkar gave all his collections to the Department of Archaeology of the Government of Maharashtra.
The museum has more than 20,000 objects. Among them only 2500 are displayed and many of these objects belong to 18th and 19th centuries and the notable collection is that of musical instruments. Mastani Mahal is a part of the museum in which he has tried to depict the palace of Mastani the wife of Peshwa Baji Rao I with his remnants.
