Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple was built by the Thekkumkar Kings and is believed to be about 500 years old. The temple has mural paintings on its walls and they depict the stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Every March, Phalguna Utsav is held here and this attracts thousands of devotees to this place. The folk arts like Mayilattom and Velakali are performed by the local artists at this time. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
