Bhitargaon Temple is an ancient temple built during the rule of Guptas in 6th century. It has a roof and high Sikhara and is made of terraced bricks with terracotta panel in the front. The temple is built over 36 feet by 47 feet size platform. The santum had two stories and the first story collapsed in 1850. The temple has 8 feet thick wall and has no window. This is the first structure in India to use the vaulted arch.
