The garments are available at wholesale prices in place called Gani market located at walkable distance from Brough Road, one of the important roads of Erode.


2. Weekly market of banians, panties and innerware is conducted every Monday in Bhavani Main Road near Asokapuram. Turmeric market and marketing societies are located two kilometers away from bus stand. Those who are looking for new business opportunities may peep into these places during morning hours.

4. Other things to do in Erode are visiting the parks and museums. Anna Periyar Memorial Museum is located in Periyar Street. This place is the birthplace of Periyar E.V. Ramaswamy, the veteran political icon. V.O.C. Park is located at the heart of the city and houses a mini zoo, a swimming pool and a stadium. The lush green vegetation in this park attracts everyone. Another park is SKM park, a private but well maintained park located in Periyar Nagar. This is a good place for kids and there are many swings in the park for them to play.

There are many nearby retreats like Mettur Dam, Kodiveri Falls, Vellode Bird Sanctuary and Yercaud Hill Station in close proximity to Erode. Horse Mela is conducted once in a year in Anthiyur, near Erode and the horses are sold even for one lakh rupees. Interested people from various parts of Tamil Nadu come here to buy horses, cows and buffaloes.
