Vini Vishwa Lal Biography

Vini Vishwa Lal is a well-known screenwriter associated with Malayalam cinema. He also plays brief roles on Malayalam screen. He was seen in Ladoo followed by Theevandi and Kalki. He marked his debut with 2012 thriller, Second Show, which also marked the screen debut of popular actor, Dulquer Salman. Sunny Wayne and Gauthami Nair are other actors who marked their Malayalam screen debut with the same movie. The movie was a box office hit. It was followed by Mohanlal starrer Koothara, which opened to mixed reviews. His third film as a screenwriter – Theevandi was a major hit at box office. Now he is concentrating on to his career, both as an actor and screenwriter, and known for his association with Tovino Thomas.

Vini Vishwa Lal was born in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala on 25 May 1985. His father G. Viswanathan Pillai retired as District Transport Officer at Kerala State Road Transport Corporation. His mother Dr. S Nirmala Devi, a teacher by profession retired as Principal at Farook Training college – Kozhikode. His younger brother Nivi Viswa Lal works as a musician in Malayalam film industry right now. Vini’s younger days were spent in Feroke, Kozhikode, where he did his schooling at a residence school. Later he graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Srinath Rajendran who offered him to write the script of Koothara was his classmate at Electronics and Communication Engineering, while popular actor Sunny Wayne was his senior. Later when Vini Vishwa Lal got his first break to films through Second Show in 2012, Sunny Wayne too joined acting field with the same movie. He was signed for Pournami, a road trip movie starring Sunny Wayne and Tovino Thomas. But the movie got shelved.
