Vineet Kumar Biography

Vineet Kumar is a well known character artist of Hindi and Telugu films. He has also appeared in Tamil and Bhojpuri movies. He appears in negative as well as comic roles. He has also appeared in a few English movies. He is a television actor also. As a Bollywood actor, a few of his roles include – Godmother, Drohkaal, Kachche Dhaage, Aks, Makdee, Thakshak, Yeh Dil, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Soch, City of Gold, Dhoka and Shool. He has also appeared in a few international projects like Return to Rajapur, Electric Moon, Strings and Bhopal: Prayer for Rain. He is a former student of National School of Drama. He is one of the reputed personalities of Indian film, theater and television industry.

Vineet was born in Patna on February 22, 1957. He did his schooling from Patna Collegiate School and graduation from B.N.College, Patna. He was active in theatre and plays during his college days. He joined Indian Peoples' Theatre Association in 1973 where he was active for 14 years. Later he joined politics during the Jayaprakash Narayan Movement. He later joined National School of Drama where he completed his Masters and Fellowship in Dramatic Arts. Later he became active in film and television industry. He married college professor Manoranjan Dhaliwal in 1998.

He is popular in south Indian circle also, most known for negative roles. He appeared as antagonist in Vijay’s Tamil super hit, Velayudham. He has also worked in Telugu movies like –Vikramarkudu, Rama Rama Krishna Krishna, Naayak and Kandireega. As a television artist, Doordarshan serials like Swabhimaan, Sea Hawks, Reporter and Naya daur are a few of his earliest works. Later he worked in Chidiya Ghar, Yeh Public Hai Sab Jaanti Hai, Kabhie Kabhie, Dhadkan, Lapataganj, Kashmeer and Ramkhelawan C.M. & Family. He played the lead role of Ramkhelawan in Ramkhelawan C.M. & Family (2002).
