Vijay Prakash Biography 
Vijay Prakash is a successful Indian playback singer who sings for Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. In 2012, he debut as a music composer for the Kannada movie, Andhar Bahar. He has also hosted the Kannada reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee Kannada. He has also performed live in many music concerts with Ustad Zakir Hussain. He is one among the four singers who sang Academy winner song, Jai ho of Slumdog Millionaire. He is top choice of leading music composers like Rahman and Harris Jayaraj. He has sung for about 25 foreign films also.
Prakash was born in a musical family. Both his parents are trained Carnatic singers - L. Ramasesha and Lopa Mudra Prakash. He completed engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore. In 1999, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in singer. He joined famous playback singer Suresh Wadkar’s singing school as a student. In 1999, he participated in Zee TV’s Sa re ga ma pa hosted by Sonu Nigam. He managed to reach its semi finals. He debut playback singing in the year 2002 with the movie – Baaz: A bird in danger. Following his debut, he sang two songs for Rahman for Hindi movie Swadesh and Tamil movie, New. He debut Kannada in the year 2008, singing the song Kavithe for Gaalipatha which gave him big break to Kannada movies. The music was composed by V. Harikrishna. Later he sang numerous hit songs for Kannada.
He won Vijay Music Awards for the Best Male Playback for the song "Hosanna" from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. A few of the popular compositions of A. R. Rahman include – Title track of New, Veera Veera/Beera Beera (Raavanan – Tamil and Telugu), Kadhal Anukkal of Enthiran, Hosanna ((Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya/ Ye Maaya Chesave) and Power star of Komaram puli. He has been frequently used by leading Tamil composers like Harris Jayaraj, G. V. Prakash Kumar, Yuvan Shankar Raja and D. Imman.
