Vasishta N. Simha Biography

Vasishta N. Simha is a film actor who appears in Kannada films. In 2016 he marked his playback singing debut also. The actor has quite excelled in negative roles and he shot to fame playing villain in Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu released in 2016. The role earned him three awards in negative/supporting roles. He bagged Filmfare award for best supporting role, and also best villain award at IIFA Utsavam and SIIMA for the memorable negative role of Ranga he played onscreen. A techie turned ‘singing’ villain of celluloid, he quit his job to pursue a career in acting.

 

Vasishta N. Simha was a software engineer by profession, before he joined silver screen. He quit his professional IT job in 2011, and started trying to get roles in films. He bagged his first role for the film, Hubballi Hudagaru. But the movie is still unreleased. He marked his career beginning Arya's Love (2013). He got a major break in his career, after playing villain’s role in Raja Huli released the same year, and there was no turning back. Very soon he rose to prominence, and became one of the leading villains of Kannada film industry.

 

After Raja Huli, he played a noted antagonist role in Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, which earned him accolades. Sundaranga Jaana, Upendra Matte Baa, Mufti, Dayavittu Gamanisi, Tagaru etc are other film appearances. He also tried his luck in a lead role through Alone, and later switched over to character roles once again. Alone was also released in Tamil titled, Karai Oram. In 2016, he marked his playback singing career through Kirik Party. The song Neecha Sullu Sutho Naalige was an instant chartbuster, and he sang its Telugu version in Telugu remake too. Marete Hodenu is yet another song sung by Simha.
