Vaijanath Biradar Biography

Vaijanath Biradar is a veteran actor, who filmed more than 350 movies in the Kannada film industry. He belongs to Bidar district of Karnataka. Love Training, Uppi 2 (2015), Maathaad Maathaadu Mallige (2007) and Mata (2006) are among his popular film roles. A humble person in the film fraternity he is known for his hard work and sincerity. For Girish Kasaravalli's movie, Kanasemba Kudureyaneri, Vaijanath Biradar won the Golden Wheel Award for Best Actor at the 2011 India Imagine film festival in Madrid, Spain. He also appeared in the Tulu film - Soombe. Birader is known for the character roles he plays on screen and is now age 60+, still busy in the industry. His role as Siddha in Mata was well appreciated. He excelled in comic roles.

He was born into a farmer family in a rural village, Tegampur of Bhalki taluk, Bidar district of Karnataka. His joint family possessed land in the village. He used to sing folk songs and take part in plays in his village, and also entertained people with his mimicry. His passion to theater and acting ended his education during his younger days. His obsession to acting was responsible for the loss of focus in his studies. In fact he ran away from his home at a younger age to join a professional theatre company. He completed only third standard studies.

Born into a farmer family he has always maintained a simple life. Known for his distinct Bidari accent, he also delivers speeches about the rain and farming. When he was facilitated by senior citizen's forum in Bidar following his international award at Madrid, Spain, he thanked all those school principals who had “fed him while he was starving”. At that time Biradar's nine-year-old daughter had been diagnosed with cancer. Yet he didn’t rely on others for the financial support for the treatment of his daughter.
