V. Suresh Thampanoor Biography

V. Suresh Thampanoor, also known as Aristo Suresh is a character artist associated with Malayalam cinema, who shot to fame after playing the role of a drunkard singer in the latest Malayalam blockbuster Action Hero Biju. The movie also marked his singing and acting debut, apart from composing and providing lyrics. He wrote the ‘nadan’ song - "Muthe Ponne Pinangalle" for the movie, which he composed and did playback singing without any music instrument and also performed on screen. The background score was fully provided by hands and this song was the highlight of the movie. The song went viral over the net. Though his role was short, his entertaining role was well appreciated by critics and well received by audience.

Suresh is a lower-middle class head load worker from Aristo Junction of Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram Main City who shot to fame with his outstanding performance in his debut flick - Action Hero Biju (2016). Kannettumukku is his native village, where he lives with his 75-year old mother. At the age of 47, he has become a star with just one film. Since the release of the film, he is often teased by his friends as Action Hero Suresh and he has given numerous interviews, apart from promotions of the film.

He has to look after his mother and five sisters. Since childhood he was interested in plays and movies. During his school days, he used to bunk school classes in the afternoon and watch movies and later return to home in the evening as usual. Only English movies were screened at that time. Yet it was not a matter of fact for Suresh. He collected scrap and sold it to fund his movie tickets. But later he got caught by school authorities. He studied till class eight.

Suresh dreamt to become a director or actor. He also tried scriptwriting and showed his scripts to many directors. Later Suresh got involved in politics and never really got a chance to pursue his dream. Yet he never left his passion of writing. Whenever he was alone he used to write something and the song - "Muthe Ponne Pinangalle” was one such. He writes folk songs and poems both. Film-crazy Suresh used to perform stage plays with his friends at railway station. He is also known as a good chef in the friends’ circle.

One of his friends Sreejith introduced him to Bobby Mohan, Abrid Shine’s friend. Bobby got interest in the song and that’s how Suresh was asked to come to Kochi. Abrid was impressed by the song and he gave Suresh a role for the movie, apart from singing and using the lyrics as such. He is really a gem picked up by the director from an unnoticed basket! After the success of his debut flick, he is also donning a prominent role in Abride Shine’s next project.
