Upendra Biography 
Upendra is an Indian actor and director. He was born on 18th September 1967 in Koteshwara near Kundapura in Karnataka in a middle class Kannada speaking Brahmin family. He wanted to shine in the film industry and so he joined the film director Kashinath as an assistant.
His parents are Manjunath Rao and Anasuya. He has one brother named Surendra. He married Priyanka Upendra and has one son Ayush born in 2007 and one daughter Aishwarya born in November 2008. His wife Priyanka is an actress who concentrates in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films.
His directorial debut was Tharle Nan Maga. This film was very successful. He gained critical acclaim for his blockbuster Super. He gave many successful movies in his career. He has a good name in Andhra Pradesh and many of his movies were dubbed into Telugu language. He also acted in some Telugu films like Kanyadanam and Raa.
He has acted in some film commercials. He started the advertising agency UppiAds. He appeared as brand ambassador of Karnataka Milk Federation, Mavalli Tiffin Room, United Breweries, etc.
Some of the films that he has acted include Nagarahavu, Naanu Naane, Hollywood, Rakta Kaneeru, Gokarna, Omkara, Gowramma, Auto Shankar, Aishwarya, Uppi Dada MBBS, Aishwarya, Masti, Toss, Anatharu, Sathyam, Buddivantha, Dubai Babu, Shrimathi, Super, etc. Some of the films that he has directed are Tharle Nan Maga, Shhh!, Om Operation, A, Swasthik, Super, Upendra and Operation Antha.
He won Filmfare Award for Best Director for the film Om in 1995, Filmfare Award for Best Film and Filmfare Award for Best Director for the film Upendra in 1999 and Suvarna Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Director for the film Super in 2010.
