Tinu Suresh Desai Biography 
Tinu Suresh Desai is an Indian film director associated with Bollywood. He directed Bollywood hit and National award winning movie starring Akshay Kumar, Rustom in 2016. The performance in the lead role by Akshay Kumar earned him National award for best actor, and it is his major recognition in his profession in the past 25 years or so, though he has been a part of several trendsetting and blockbuster hits. Earlier he has worked in Bollywood as an assistant director of Akshay Kumar starrer Baby in 2015, and directed one horror thriller, 1920: London which fared average at box office. As of now he has directed two hit movies in Bollywood.
Dharmendra "Tinu" Suresh Desai started off his career as an assistant director in Bollywood. He worked under famous and acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey for 2015 hit spy thriller film, Baby. Got acquainted with Akshay Kumar through this movie, the duo artists later joined hands together for the biopic based on the lives of Naval Officer K. M. Nanavati and businessman Prem Ahuja. As a film director Tinu marked his debut with horror thriller, 1920: London in 2016. It is the third instalment in the 1920 (film series), after 1920 and 1920: The Evil Returns, produced and scripted by Vikram Bhatt.
The movie - 1920: London opened to negative responses. But it bagged him Screen Award for Most Promising Debut Director. He came to limelight soon after he signed superstar Akshay Kumar for his next project titled Rustom. The movie was a box office, bagging many awards. He was to direct one movie with Ajay Devgan. It was once again a biopic based on the life of Jaswant Singh Gill, the chief mining engineer, who evacuated 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal, in 1989. But the project didn’t take off due to disagreement over the script between the director and the actor.
