Tinku (tamil Actor) Biography

Tinku is a south Indian actor who appears in Tamil films and TV roles. He has also done numerous films as a child actor in the 1980s and 1990s, before moving to adult roles. His first credited role is 1984 film, Anbulla Rajinikanth, and his name was credited as Master Tinku in those days. With his comeback to acting field as an adult actor, he moved to television and earned success in this field as well. He returned to entertainment world with the reality show, Jodi Number One and since then he is regular with TV roles.

His real name is S. Arunkanth. He adapted the screen name ‘Master Tinku’ for his role as a child actor in the 1980s. He hails from Chennai, and was born on August 13, 1978. When he entered films as a child actor at the age of barely three, his sister Soniya was already a child star, known by the name Baby Sonia then. Sonia later became a successful actress, and she married actor Bose Venkat. Thus Bose Venkat is Tinku’s brother-in-law. Some of the roles of Tinku as a child actor include Anbulla Rajinikanth, Vaidehi Kathirunthal, Japanil Kalyanaraman, Uyire Unakkaga, Agni Paarvai, Thevar Magan etc.

As an adult actor, he was first seen in 2002 film, Jaya, followed by Saroja. He was assistant photographer in “Devar Magan”, and assisted cameraman Jayanan Vincent for a while. His big break came with television, when he became a part of serials such as “Kolangal”, “Lakshmi”, “Nimmadi” and “Naanayam”. Then came Jodi Number 1, Season Two, where he was paired with Preethi. The duo won the title, and Tinku’s career soared high.
