Tilak Shekar Biography

Tilak Shekar is a noted film actor who appears mainly in Kannada language films, best known for playing negative shaded roles. A model turned actor, he had a successful modelling career too. He was one among the inmates of the Kannada version of controversial reality show, Bigg Boss. He was one of the 13 housemates in the first season of Bigg Boss Kannada aired in April 2013. Made his film debut in 2006, he has done more than 25 films.

 

As a film actor, he is best known for his work in box office super hit film, Ugramm, the movie which marked the directorial debut of Prashanth Neel. He was nominated at Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Kannada for this stunning performance. His supporting role in 2016 film, Karvva was also appreciated for which he received a nomination both at SIIMA and IIFA in best supporting actor category. He is to debut in Tamil movie through Octopus, co-starring Kishore and Yagna Shetty. In fact it’s a Kannada-Tamil bilingual and Tilak is excited about this project as he speaks Tamil fluently and wants to expand his horizon to other language films as well.  

 

The model-turned-actor is a popular villain in Kannada cinema at present. He was launched in Ganda Hendati, the Kannada remake of Bollywood erotic thriller Murder, with Sanjana. The movie was released in 2006, and Tilak reprised the pivot role of Emraan Hashmi in this flick. Similar to Hashmi who marked a sensational debut with Murder, Tilak too earned ‘a bad boy’ tag with his debut film. A shopaholic and party animal, he is a Page 3 regular, and is very popular with the girls. Accident, Hatrick Hodi Maga, Power, Story Kathe, Dandam Dashagunam, Karvva, Mandya to Mumbai, Nanna Ninna Prema Kathe etc are some of his releases later.
