Taruni Sachdev Biography

Taruni Sachdev – A cute face familiar to all Indian homes came to this world and vanished unexpectedly like a meteor. It is really strange that she died exactly on her birthday, somewhat similar to the ghost movie - Vellinakshathram her debut movie. She debut the film world as Ammu through Malayalam movie Vellinakshatram (meteor) in 2004 and movie ran in theatres full packed only due to this tiny ‘Ammu’. She was just 4 years old that time and people rushed to theatres to see her innocent face and acting skills. When Director Vinayan spotted her and gave her the movie Vellinakshatram, she was the shining star of Indian ad field who was paid most. She had appeared more than 50 or 100 ads that time of which Rasna ad along with Karishma Kapoor and Rotamac ad with Big B were most popular. She was one among the most promised actresses of future that time.

Born to an industrialized family in Mumbai, she was doing her school studies at Bai Avabai Framji Petit Girls High School in Bandra. It was her mother who noticed her talent and encouraged her in all means in the field of modeling, movie and advertisements.  She first appeared in Indian television for the program Bol Baby Bol of Star plus and last one was ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?’ Shah Rukh Khan was anchoring that program along with a few kids of which Taruni was one among them. She appeared in more than 100 ads of which a few regional ones are also added.

Soon after the huge success of Vellinakshatram, she became a member of every home of Kerala and very soon the same director gave her, the next movie ‘Satyam’. In both movies, Pritviraj was the hero; he acted as her father in Vellinakshatram and as uncle in Satyam. She acted in two successful Hindi movies as well.  In Koi Mil Gaya, she acted as Hritik’s friend and in Paa as Amitabh Bachchan’s girl friend.  Her last movie appearance was in 2012 Tamil movie Vetri Selvan.

It happened all of a sudden. She went to Nepal along with her mother to visit a temple and died in plane crash along with her mother and 14 other passengers in Nepal. The whole film world couldn’t accept it and still she is shining as a meteor who has come to this world with a spiritual power and left the world so suddenly, after giving a lot of blessings. The whole film world will remember her forever.
