Tapan Sinha was one of the most prominent Indian directors who shares equal status with great directors of Indian cinema like Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak and Mrinal Sen. His best movies are Kabuliwala (1957), Louha-Kapat, Sagina Mahato (1970), Apon Jon (1968), Kshudhita Pashan, Safed Haathi (1978) and Aaj Ka Robinhood. His films have been shown in many international film festivals including London, Moscow, Berlin, Venice, San Francisco and Ireland.
