Tanvi Jagadish Biography

Tanvi Jagadish is an Indian surfer and stand-up paddler from Mangalore. She is the only female surfer and stand-up paddler to have represented India in international events. Tanvi was just eight when she was introduced to water sports, and by late teens she made a name of herself in this field. Started off as a hobby, surfing became her career goal, when only a few females choose this profession for a lifetime. She has won 6 consecutive international medals. In 2018 she became the only person to represent India in the Singapore Ocean Cup, scheduled for November 17 and 18. 18-year old Tanvi is India’s sole participant in two international stand-up paddling events this year.

Tanvi Jagadish hails from Mangalore, Karnataka. An upcoming surfer and a top ranked stand-up paddler, she has represented India in many international competitions in the recent times at a very young age, and has won 6 consecutive international medals too. She is so much addicted to this sport that she wakes up early in the morning at around 3.30 am and starts practising at 5.30 am. Before that she follows an hour of meditation and some yoga. She hits the shores at Mulki at 5.30 am.

She hails from NITK, and to make more time avail for practice, she shifted from her residence to her grandmother’s house at Mulki, located at a distance of 10-minute walk from the Mantra Surf Club. Currently her eyes are glued on the 2024 Stand Up Paddling world cup, for which she has a lot of expectations. Her father Jagadish works with Hindustan Petroleum and her mother Kavitha is a housewife. Tanvi is currently studying in Mangalore.
