Suvarna Mathew Biography 
Suvarna Mathew is a former Miss Kerala, popular heroine and a popular character artist associated with Malayalam cinema and television. A prominent actress of Malayalam cinema in the 1990s, she has also acted in a few Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies. She made her comeback with Chattakkari in 2012. She has acted aside Mithun Chakraborty in a series of Bollywood films in the 1990s - Do Numbri, Meri Adalat, Sultaan and Sanyasi Mera Naam though not commercially successful.
This Pala girl was a very reserved and shy type girl in her school days who never appeared on stage for any shows. She became Miss Kerala in 1992 when she was studying in 9th standard. It was just co-incidence that she went to Thiruvananthapuram to her aunt’s home for a vacation and she presented her for the contest. Her win in the beauty pageant turned out to be the turning point. Very soon she got a few film roles of which Murali starrer Valayam is a noted one. She played the female lead Radha – Murali’s wife for this movie. Then she played second lead in Jayaram starrer Sudhinam. Akashadoothu and Samooham are some of her noted roles during this period.
Though she started off with lead roles, later she received second lead and character roles. Very soon in 1994 she moved Chennai to get more offers and joined Kala Master’s dance class as a student, where very often heroines get offer through screen test. First offer was given by Kasturi raja who offered her a female lead role opposite Sharavanan, where she played a village girl. In 1995, she played second lead in Mayabazar, the movie starring Urvasi and Ramki. After getting married to Varghese Jacob in 2003, she got settled in US and in 2012 made a comeback through Chattakkari.
