Suresh (actor) Biography

Mysore Seshaiah Suresh Babu, popularly known as Suresh is a popular actor of Tamil films since early 1980’s. He came to limelight with his debut movie, Panneer Pushpangal, released in 1981 and till now he has worked in about 275 movies, his character ranging from leading roles to supporting roles. Till the 1990s, Suresh played the role of a lover boy in many films and later he entered production field and has produced several movies and television serials. He is a judge in the competitive cooking game show "Kitchen Superstar". Apart from Tamil, he works in Telugu and Malayalam movies. Now he is a popular character actor and is busy in film field.

Suresh's father Gopinath was a renowned director known for the movie - Raman Parsuraman. Suresh was brought up in Chennai where he completed his education. He did his schooling at Oxford English High School and Shrine vailankanni English School. As his family was in films, he too joined the same industry. Working as an assistant in editing and choreography was his initial experience in cinema. A photographer friend of his father suggested that Suresh could make it big if he chooses acting as his career. It was the turning point of his life. Suresh made a portfolio and approached director C. V. Sridhar.

Though he didn’t get an opportunity, he got film offers from two leading directors at the same time - director duo Santhana Bharathi and P. Vasu for Panneer Pushpangal and Bharathiraja for Alaigal Oivathillai. Both were film offers in lead role and he was in a dilemma to choose which one. He chose Panneer Pushpangal, which became a box office hit. The other movie, Alaigal Oivathillai too was a hit though he was not a part of it. Thus began to successful career of Suresh. He has been most successful as a lover boy in 1980’s and as age processed by, he experimented with other type of roles.
