Supreeth Reddy Biography

Supreeth Reddy, best known as Supreeth in the film industry is a film actor associated with south Indian films, best known for playing supporting and negative shaded roles. Quite popular as a leading villain of Telugu films, he earned fame as an actor through the roles he played in Chatrapati, Maryada Ramanna etc. He also played bad boy in a few Bollywood remakes of south Indian movies such as Gajini and Rowdy Rathod. His role as Katraju in 2005 masala entertainer Chhatrapati earned him initial recognition. Since then he is regular with negative roles on Telugu screen.

 

Supreeth Reddy hails from Hyderabad of present-day Telangana. Since young he dreamt to become an actor. He was interested in sports as well. He was a volleyball player during his school and college days. He marked his acting debut with 2002 blockbuster Telugu film, Jayam produced and directed by Teja. He played an uncredited role in the movie. In fact he had just missed the auditions of the film, and just missed a chance to get a good role in the film. His second release was Johnny (2003), followed by Andhrawala.

 

He tasted success through his association with the very successful director, S. S. Rajamouli when he was offered two films back to back – Sye and Chhatrapati. He played the role of Rugby coach Rafi in Sye, for which he was trained in Rugby. He was initiated casted in the role of Prabhas’ friend in Chhatrapati, but later changed to a negative character. The role was a hit, and this breakthrough role helped him to bag many villain type of roles onscreen. In fact he received many offers to play protagonist. However he refused all those positive roles.
