Sulile Kumar Biography

Sulile Kumar is a south Indian film actor who predominantly works in Tamil and Kannada language films. He made his debut in a supporting role in Tarun Gopi's Kaalai (2008), and gained attention playing grey shaded roles. He played antagonist’s Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum (2009), Aanmai Thavarael (2011), Nagaram (2010), Markandeyan (2011), Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012) and many more films, and also the lead role in Padam Parthu Kaadhal Sol (2012). His name is also credited as Tarun Shatriya, and has completed one successful decade in south Indian film industry. Dora, Kalathur Gramam and Thagaraaru are some of his recent Tamil works, and he regularly appears in Tamil cinema.

Sulile Kumar hails from Bangalore. He marked his acting debut in the year 2008, playing a supporting role in Kaalai (2008). The movie’s director Tarun Gopi also gave him a new screen name, Tarun Shatriya. The actor admitted that this name change, along with an astro-numerologist proved to be lucky to him. However he gave up that name after a few releases, and his name Tarun got confused with actors with similar names. He reverted to his original name most recently in 2017. The following year he got opportunity to play antagonist in his second release, Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, and since then roles came pouring in. Most of them were grey shaded roles. In between he marked his Kannada debut through Marikondavaru in 2015, and concentrated on Tamil releases most.

He played lead role in the romantic comedy Padam Parthu Kaadhal Sol (2012), Kalathur Gramam and yet another unreleased investigation thriller, Kandupidi Kandupidi. In 2016 he marked his debut to short films as a director through The Broken Tide, and also played lead role. Dora was his most recent release, co-staring Nayantara, and Ameer's period drama Santhana Devan is his upcoming project.
