Suchendra Prasad Biography

Suchendra Prasad is a cine personality associated with Kannada cinema, known as an actor and director. He is also associated with Kannada theatre and television. He has an illustrious career in theatre, working with some of the legends like B. V. Karanth, and has equal experience in cinema as well. Many of his family members and close relatives are associated with the field of cinema and entertainment. His wife Pavitra Lokesh is a famous film and television actress, while his father-in-law Mysore Lokesh and brother-in-law Adi Lokesh are also actors. Suchendra Prasad is best known for his work in parallel cinema, and he received his initial break through 1999 film Kanooru Heggadithi as an actor.

Suchendra Prasad portrayed numerous character roles on silver screen. He also gained recognition as a stage actor and filmmaker. He has also made a few documentaries. As per latest biz, Suchendra Prasad will now be making documentaries for the United Nation’s Development Programme. Though he is a humorous and funny person in real life, he chooses serious themes for his movies. He prefers to make serious, educative films such as Prapaatha and Sangdhigdha. Prapaatha dealt with the first aeroplane made by an Indian. Sangdhigdha weaved a story about child rights.  

He has been involved making documentaries for the past two decades with his own guild. He formed the guild, Voicing Silence in 2000 consisting of 46 filmmakers across the globe. Commercially, he has done a few movies such as Kannadakkagi Ondannu otti, MMCH, Beega and Chemistry of Cariappa. K. Suchendra Prasad was born in Karnataka in the year 1973. He started off with theatre working under stalwarts and later moved to film industry in the 1990s. He appeared in character roles in recent Kannada releases like Buckasura, Raju Kannada Medium, Bharjari etc.
