Srinagar Kitty Biography

Srinagar Kitty is a Kannada film and television actor. He started off as a child artist of television serials and debut big screen in the year 2003 in supporting role. His first major film as a lead actor was Inthi Ninna Preethiya (2008) which earned him critical appreciation. Matte mungaru (2010), Savaari (2010), Hudugaru (2011) and Sanju Weds Geetha (2011) are his noted Kannada movies. Savaari earned him Filmfare Special Jury Award for the year 2009 and Hudugaru in 2011 earned him a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2008, he appeared in Tamil movie, Iruvar Mattum By2, where he played the role of Azhagu. He was credited as Abhay for this movie. He is married to TV producer Bhavana Belegere, daughter of noted writer, journalist and TV Presenter Ravi Belagere.

 

Kitty was born in Bangalore in 1980. He started his career early as a child artist for TV serials during 1980’s. Malanadina Chitragalu, Doddamane and Kandana Kavya were those serials in which he played a child artist’s role. From a younger age he has been associated with stage shows and plays like - Kaadu, Kappe Bhavi Nakshatra, Akka, Namma Nimmagalobba and Sanje Mallige need special mention. After his education, he became active in television serials once again. Chandrika, Preethigagi, Ananda Sagara, Mane Mane Kathe and Bhoomi are her noted works as an adult actor.

 

In the year 2003, he entered big screen doing supporting roles. He played villain roles as well. Chandrachakori, Gowdru, Love Story, Aadhi, Aiyya, Aadi and Vishnusene are those movies, before he started getting meaty roles. He made his debut as a hero in the movie "Giri" and followed by Inti Ninna Preethiya, which gave him critical acclaim and placed him as a leading hero. Sanju Weds Geetha and Hudugaru are his commercial hits as a lead actor. Kitty has also lent his voice for the character of Lord Ram in a radio programme titled Radio Ramayana.
