Sri Reddy Biography

Sri Reddy is a new comer actor associated with Telugu film industry. She has done small roles in films like Nachuvale, Chandamama Lo Amrutham, Golconda High School, Ee Rojullo and Chammak Challo, A Film By Aravind etc.  In April 2018, Sri Reddy stripped herself in the public and protested against sexual harassment in the film industry. It created a lot of stir in the film industry, where casting couch has already been a subject of debate for many decades. She made shocking revelations in an online interview and accused a filmmaker to sexually exploit her in exchange of heroine role in Telugu film, which he later refused. Many celebrities came forward supporting her, though she faced oppositions from certain film organizations too.

On a TV show she shared live that she shared a relationship with a star hero of films only for some chances and said she couldn't succeed and that they had to break up. As per latest biz, the actor is the son of a film producer who is awaiting his film launch. Her recent revelations through social media and TV channels about casting couch in the industry have opened Pandora ’s Box and huge discussions over the media. Her fight against casting couch in Tollywood has inspired many supporting actors and junior artistes to come out and speak against sexual exploitation they faced in the film industry. She claims that established actresses don’t need to face such compromises from the industry, and it happens mostly with junior artists who want to get good roles.  

Sri Reddy is a TV presenter-turned-actress, who plays brief roles in movies. To take protest to the next level, she staged a dharna outside the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) headquarters and unexpectedly stripped in the middle of the road, and sat down in protest bare-chested. She raised her voice for female actresses in the industry who are don’t paid equally to male artists and had to bare everything to get good roles. She claimed that almost all filmmakers from the industry have asked sexual flavours for a role.
