Sohini Paul Biography

Sohini Paul is a noted actress associated with Bengali cinema and Hindi television. She is the daughter of Bengal actor and politician, Tapas Paul. She marked her film debut at the age of 14 with the film, Bow Barracks Forever, and later appeared in the Bengali films - Jackpot (2009), Ekti Meye Tamashi (2009), Autograph (2010) and Hum Tum Dushman Dushman (2015). Currently she is active in Hindi television industry, and is currently seen in Aap Ke Aa Jaane Se and Partners. She has been a part of 2015-2017 show, Chidiya Ghar in various roles.

 

She was born on December 31, 1986 in West Bengal. She schooled in Lakshmipat Singhania Academy. She marked her film debut in 2004, while she was doing her schooling. She appeared in Anjan Dutt’s English film Bow Barracks Forever. She attended workshops and did repeated rehearsals as a part of the preparation of the role. Her sessions with Sohag Sen helped her get under the skin of her character. The workshops made her confident and a lot more creative, admits Sohini. Known for her talent in film industry, if she is not satisfied by a particular shot, she requests the film director to shoot it once more.

 

She played a wild, erudite Anglo-Indian youngster out to break the rules in her debut film. She was casted opposite Jisshu Sengupta for the movie, Ekti Meye Tamashi in 2009. Reading Sidney Sheldon, listening to music, chatting with friends etc are some of her hobbies. Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore and Aparna Sen are among her screen idols. Jeans and T-shirt is her favourite outfit. Currently she is active in Hindi television industry.
