Simple Suni Biography

N Sunil Kumar, best known as Suni or Simple Suni is a famous filmmaker of Kannada language. He also writes film scripts and song lyrics. His maiden directorial project, Simple Agi Ondh Love Story released in 2013 was warmly welcomed by the film industry as well as critics and viewers and the ‘Simple’ tag got added to his name. Rakshit Shetty played the male protagonist and actor Srinagara Kitty made a friendly appearance in the movie. His production venture - Ulidavaru Kandante directed by Rakshit Shetty (protagonist of Simple Agi Ondh Love Story) acquired cult classic status in Kannada film industry. His next directorial venture – Bahuparak is slated to release in 2014. He has announced his third project as well – Manamohaka.

He was born in Bangalore in 1986. He completed an Undergraduate course in Bio technology from KLE College. Since younger days he developed a hobby to write poems, and also about cinema and other topics. He started his film journey as an assistant director under Dinesh Baboo, followed by Prema and once again back to Dinesh Baboo. Suni started his independent career directing short films. In 2013, he made his directorial debut with Simple Agi Ondh Love Story which turned out to be a blockbuster. When big producers hesitated to invest money in this project, Suni made this project with the help of a few friends on a very small budget of approximately 30-40 lakhs. Rakshit Shetty played the lead role and it also witnessed actor Srinagara Kitty playing a cameo role. Shwetha Srivastav was its heroine.

In 2014 he made his second project, Ulidavaru Kandante and the movie was directed by none other than the hero of his first movie. Rakshit Shetty also played the male protagonist, aside Tara and Kishore.  Suni recently started his production house named ‘Suvin’.
