Sihi Kahi Geetha Biography

Sihi Kahi Geetha is a popular character artist associated with Kannada entertainment industry. She is associated with both movies and television, and is quite active in the field since 1980s. Nishyabda (1998), Surya Vamsha (1999), Maleyali Jotheyali (2009) and Actor (2016) are some of her noted performances on big screen. She is married to noted Kannada actor, Sihi Kahi Chandru, and the couple has one daughter, Hitha Chandrashekar who works in Kannada films playing lead roles. Geetha is also a voice-over artist. She has appeared in more than 50 films in Kannada.

Her real name is Geetha. She started her acting career with television in the second half of 1990s. She first acted in Doordarshan serial, Sihi Kahi in 1986. She played the lead role opposite Chandrashekar, and the show became immensely popular that both the lead actors added ‘Sihi Kahi’ tag to their names. Till now they are known by the same names. In fact, they met on the sets of this popular show, and later got married. The couple has one daughter Hitha Chandrashekar who is an aspiring film actress in Kannada cinema.

After her noted performance in Sihi Kahi, she joined film scene in the year 1990, and worked till late 1990s before she took a small break. Sididedda Gandu, Ramarajyadalli Rakshasaru and Bhale Chatura are her early releases. In 1992, she started her career as a dubbing artist too. Gharshane, Banni Ondsala Nodi, Shivanna, Gandugali, Beda Krishna Ranginata etc are some of her early works as a dubbing artist. Since late 2000s, she is fully active in Kannada entertainment industry, and she appeared in 2016 TV series, Aadarsha Dampathigalu.
