Shweta Tripathi Biography

Shweta Tripathi is an Indian actress associated with television and Bollywood films. In 2015, she played the supporting role of Shaalu in highly acclaimed film, Masaan (Fly Away Solo). This newcomer earned a loud noise of applause for the role she played on the screen. She was paired with Vicky Kaushal for the role. As a television actress, she is best known for playing Zenia Khan in the Disney Channel Original Series Kya Mast Hai Life. She has also appeared in TV ads like McDonald's, Tata Sky and Tata Tea. She played female lead in Haraamkhor (2015) that was shown in several international film festivals, thus making magic start in Bollywood.

Shweta was born on 6 July 1985 in Delhi. She graduated from NIFT, Delhi before she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in films and television. She is a foodie, has passion of photography and dancing and has worked as a photo editor and technical job before entry to television. She had a short stint in theater as a stage actress too. She loves adventures and her latest passion is scuba diving. She has been a photo editor for the women's magazine, Femina for a short period. She made her television debut in the year 2009 with the series, Kya Mast Hai Life, where she played the role of tomboyish Zenia Khan.

In 2011, she appeared in the adaptation of Tess of the d'Urbervilles, ‘Trishna’ and one short film titled Sujata, where she played young Sujata. Masaan in 2015 marked her Bollywood debut. The movie also starred         Richa Chadda, Vicky Kaushal and Sanjay Mishra in lead roles. The movie was directed by the debutant - Neeraj Ghaywan. In Haramkhor, she played the role of a 14 year old school girl who falls for her married teacher, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. She uses the strange name, 'Batata Vada' to handle all social media platforms.
