Shraddha Shashidhar Biography

Shraddha Shashidhar is a successful model who currently holds the title of Miss India Universe. She was crowned Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva – 2017 and thus represented India at Miss Universe beauty pageant 2017. She represented India in the international event soon after India’s Manushi Chhillar created history and gave India its sixth Miss World 2017 title, 17 years after Priyanka Chopra. Shraddha Shashidhar hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu and was 21 years old when she won the beauty pageant title, and represented India at international event.

Shraddha Shashidhar was born on September 3, 1996 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. But her school education was completed from Nashik and graduation from Mumbai. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Sophia College for Women, Mumbai. Shraddha is also an athlete, apart from a successful model. In fact she belongs to an Army family, and her academic years spent at different cities of India.

Associated with beauty events, she was crowned Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Miss Universe India 2017 by the previous pageant holder, Roshmitha Harimurthy. She competed against 14 other girls from across the country to win the title. Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta was also present in the event. Peden Ongmu Namgyal (Sikkim) and Apeksha Porwal (Mumbai) finished behind her. Thus 21-year old graduate student Shraddha represented India at Miss Universe 2017 which was held at The AXIS, United States on November 26, 2017.

But she couldn’t meet with expectations and even failed to find place in top 16. 92 contestants across the globe participated in the event. At the National Costume competition, Shashidhar chose to symbolise love and purity in the form of Radha, and her costumes were designed by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla and Melvyn Dominic Noronha for the competition.
