Shivani Tanksale Biography

Shivani Tanksale is a Mumbai based theatre actor, and also does supporting roles in Bollywood. She is better known as the face of the first i-pill commercial. She regularly appears in TV commercials and Max New York Life 'Sanju' advertisement is another noted work. This stage actress has recently started directing stage plays. She is a noted theatre artist and The Vagina Monologues and A Funny Thing Called Love are her major plays.

She studied at Mumbai's Green lawns High School and since then she has been active in plays. She was formally introduced to Marathi theatre while at college. It happened when one of her classmates asked if she is a Maharastrian. When she nodded yes, she asked to attend an audition for a Marathi play. Later on she went on to win several state and national level competitions. She gave more importance to plays than studies in those days. The theatre group Ekjute spotted her at one of her college plays and thus she got opportunity to work with this group.

She had a secret ambition to appear in ad films and hence took it as vocational subject. Her first ad was Annapurna Aromax in 2003 followed by Airtel Blackberry. But her first big break was the i-pill commercial. Later she appeared in ads of Colgate, Britannia Cakes, Wheel, Kellogg's Chocos, Vodafone, IndusInd Bank, Max New York Life Insurance and Cavin Milk. She has also done a few television serials like Ketan Mehta's Time Bomb 9/11 and Gubaare for Zee TV, apart from Kitty Party and Sansani. Escape from Taliban, Inkar and President is coming are her brief Bollywood appearances. Tanksale is the granddaughter of politician Vasant Sathe.
