Shivada Nair Biography

Shivada Nair is a south Indian actress who made her debut through Fazil’s comeback movie (Malayalam) – Living together in 2011. Though her debut movie didn’t give her a good break in the industry, she moved towards Tamil films and succeeded as well. She has been a VJ for a Malayalam television channel, when she was spotted by the director Fazil of ‘Manichitrathazhu’ fame. She debut Tamil films with N. Krishna’s Nedunchaalai, for which she received rave reviews from critics. In 2015, she made a comeback to Malayalam films through Jayasurya starrer, Su.. Su... Sudhi Vathmeekam, which is a box office hit. She played the female lead. Her upcoming release is a supernatural thriller – Zero, where she plays female lead opposite Ashwin Kakumanu.

Her real name is Sreelekha Nair, the same she used for her debut movie. Her name is often pronounced as Shivada and Sshivada. Sreelekha Nair was born on 27th April 1986 in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. She studied in Chennai and moved to Kerala at the age of 10, where she completed her studies. She is fluent in speaking both Malayalam and Tamil languages. Shivada started her career as a video jockey and was focused on dance when she was spotted by ace director Fazil for his comeback movie – Living together in 2011. In the youth oriented movie, she played female lead opposite Hemanth Menon. The movie was panned by critics.

In 2014 she made her Tamil debut through Nedunchaalai, where she played a Malayali village girl, manga who runs a dhaba. She rechristened as Shivada nair. She was referred as a “terrific newcomer” by leading critics. The movie was a sleeper hit. She dubbed herself for the movie. But in her upcoming Tamil film, Zero, she plays Priya, a modern-day wife, who is also orthodox and holds on to some traditional values.
