Shashank Arora Biography

Shashank Arora is a Bollywood actor, writer and musician who shot to fame playing the lead role in his debut film – Titli, one of the best films of 2015.  Earlier he has appeared in a supporting role in Myoho in 2012. The movie directed by Kanu Behl also starred Ranvir Shorey, Amit Sial, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Lalit Behl in pivot roles. He was paired with another debutant Shivani Raghuvanshi for the role. The movie was released under Yash Raj Films banner, though the production house is best known for commercial and entertaining films rather than offbeat movies. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra and Dibakar Banerjee. Rock on 2 – is his upcoming flick – the sequel of Farhan Akhtar starrer Rock on!

He was born on 21 February 1989 in New Delhi. His parents are graphic designers and creativity has always been around him while at home. He was interested in music and theatre from a young age. He did his schooling in Delhi and as soon as completed schooling in 2006, he moved to Montreal, Canada at the age of 17 to study cinema and music. While at Canada he joined a street theatre group. It was formed by a group of activists. Soon after the completion of course in Canada, he returned to Mumbai. Once reached Mumbai he continued with studies in acting, as he was too serious in this field.

'Myoho' (2012) was his first credited movie in a supporting role. In 2014, he got the big break through ‘Titli’. The critically acclaimed movie was screened at various film festivals like 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Philadelphia Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam etc. The lead actors were praised by critics for their outstanding performances as well. This 26-year old Delhi boy has a promising career ahead.
