Sharath Lohitashwa Biography

Sharath Lohitashwa is a noted film actor and stage actor associated with Kannada entertainment industry, known for his negative roles. He is the son of famous Kannada film actor and playwright, Lohithaswa. He has excelled in the role of villain and has appeared as a character artist. He has also acted in television serials. In 2014, he was awarded with Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Raje Gowda in Matte Satyagraha and has been nominated at Filmfare in 2013 for portraying the role of Shankarappa in Kaddipudi. He also received a nomination at Vijay Award for Best Villain for the movie, Pandiya Naadu in 2013. Simmakal Ravi is one of the memorable roles he played onscreen till now.

He was born in Thondagere of Tumkur district, Karnataka in the year 1972. Educated in Bangalore and originally rooted as a theatre artist, he has excelled in his roles as a television actor and film actor. Chidambara Rahasya broadcast in DD Chandana and Kichchu in ETV Kannada are his most noted roles on small screen. His roles in the movies - AA Dinagalu, Ambareesha, Sanju Weds Geetha and Bheema Theeradalli made him a household name in Karnataka. He mainly does villain roles, for which he is known for. Aa Dinagalu – is his most outstanding role as a villain till now.

He is also a singer and has sung many songs for the theatre plays in which he acted. Ethir Neechal – is his debut Tamil film, where he played the role of a doting father, followed by a villain role in Pandianadu as Simmakkal Ravi. Mass and India Pakistan are his latest releases in Tamil language while Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole is his 2016 Kannada release.
