Seema Pahwa Biography

Seema Pahwa is a film actress associated with Bollywood and televsion, best known for supporting roles. She is also active in theatre. She is married to actor Manoj Pahwa, her co-actor in Hum Log, one of the top rated Doordarshan serials of 1980s. Seema Pahwa has played some of the meaty roles in Bollywood cinema in the recent times. For the year 2017, she received two nominations at the prestigious Filmfare awards in best supporting actress category. She won the nominations for the memorable roles she played in the mid-cap comedy films, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Bareilly Ki Barfi. But she couldn’t win any awards. Her role in Ankhon Dekhi bagged her Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2015 Screen Awards.

Her maiden name is Seema Bhargav. She rose to fame in the 1980s when she played one of the popular roles in the iconic TV series, Hum Log. The show was aired during 1984-85, and she played the supporting role of Badki in the series. She married her co-star Manoj Pahwa, best known as a comedy actor in Hindi entertainment industry. The couple has one daughter and one son, and the family is now settled in Mumbai.

Seema worked in many films in the 1990s and later. Yet her most memorable roles happened only in the recent times. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Ankhon Dekhi and Bareilly Ki Barfi are the best roles on silver screen for which she is known most. Her other popular roles include - Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Wazir, All Is Well, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Tere Bin Laden etc. She has been a part of TV shows such as Lakhon Mein Ek, Aandhi, Hum Ladkiyan, Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani etc.
