Seema Kapoor Biography

Seema Kapoor is a former actress and model, who was active in the 1970s and 1980s. She is a dancer too. Also known as "The Golden Girl of Bollywood" in the 1970s, she was featured in the cover page of all leading fashion magazines of the decade, and used to be a heartthrob of young men. Her pictures regularly appeared in magazines such as Debonair, and her glamorous pictures were high in demand, even for regional magazines. This glamorous model also appeared in many movies in Bollywood, and a few Kannada and Punjabi movies. She predominantly appeared in Bollywood films, mostly in glamorous attire and also for dance sequences.

Seema always preferred for glamorous photo shoots, and she graced the covers of almost all fashion magazines of the 1970s. She made two Debonair covers and later appeared in a feature shot for the same magazine. She made to several magazine covers one after the other. One English weekly from Delhi was launched with her picture on the cover. The magazine featured her in the cover for their second issue too. The fashion photographer N. K. Sareen shot many of her extra glamorous photos and those pictures were used by several magazines in Hindi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Bengali and other regional language magazines.

She also acted in many movies of 1970s, mostly in glamorous roles. Dharmatma, Warrant, Sewak and Santo Banto are her noted appearances for Bollywood films. She also played lead role in box office hit Punjabi film, Gori Dian Jhanjran released in 1980. Though she remained glamorous in the 1970s, she couldn’t achieve success in Bollywood, unlike her contemporaries – Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi. She acted in some B and C grade movies and then she fell off the radar. She disappeared from the scene without any traces, and the glamor world forgot her too.
