Seema G. Nair Biography

Seema G. Nair is a Malayalam actress who appears in small screen as well as movies in supporting roles. She entered acting field in the late 1980’s through amateur plays and early 1990’s through Doordarshan serials and later worked parallel in movies, plays and serials. Her niece Smitha Girijan is married to famous Malayalam music director, Deepak Dev. Her sister Renuka Girijan, is a playback singer and her brother, A. G. Anil is a music director. Her mother is a stage actress.

She was born in Mundakayam, Kottayam. Her mother is an amateur theater artist who has won many awards. She studied music from R.L.V. College of Music and Fine Arts, Tripunithura. Seema has been associated with amateur stage plays during early days and has won awards as a stage actress. Seema started her career as a theater artist in 1987 and has performed in more than 1000 stages. She is a member of NGO, Make-A-Wish Foundation, for Kerala division. Apart from plays, movies and television serials she has also acted in a few tele films. She has been active in Doordarshan Malayalam seraisl since early 1990’s.

As a television actress, her noted serials are Manasi, Cherappayi Kadhakal, Sooryakandhi, Velankani Mathavu, Sthree Oru Sandhwanam, Ulkkadal, Kalanum Kandakashani, Ente Alphonsamma and Manasaveena. Though she was active in serials and plays, she reached films only late in 2003 with the movie Chronic Bachelor. After doing less significant roles in a series of Malayalam movies over a decade, she did a commendable role in the latest two movies ‘1983’ and ‘Happy Journey’, both released in 2014.  She was the celebrity judge of comedy show, Rasikaraja No.1 on Surya TV.
