Sathyan Anthikad Biography 
Sathyan Anthikad is an Indian film director who works in Malayalam film industry. He has directed many commercially successful films. He was born on 3rd January 1955 in Anthicad in Thrissur in Kerala.
His entry into cine field was in 1973 as an assistant director to Balakrishnan. His directorial debut was in 1982 through the film Kurukkante Kalyanam. He has directed many memorable films in Malayalam film industry. He covers social matters with a comic touch. He has filmed two novels namely Appunni and Irattakkuttikalude Achan.
He has a taste for comedy and so his films usually have family life backgrounds. He associated with the screenwriter and actor Sreenivasan in most of his films. The leading actors Jayaram and Mohanlal have worked with him in many films. He and the music director Johnson are said to be one of the successful pairs in the Malayalam film industry. He worked with Ilayaraja in the film Manassinakkare and few other films after that.
He is also a lyricist. He has written lyrics for the songs Oru Nimisham Tharoo Ninnilailiyan, Yaminee Neeyunaroo, Tharake Mizhiyithalil Kanneerumayi, Manasa Devi, Pranaya Vasantham Thaliraniyumbol, Manatharil Ennum, Manasse Ninte Maninoopurangal, Aalolam Chanchadum, etc.
Some of the films that he has directed include Kirukkkante Kalyanam, Kinnaram, Appunni, Kaliyil Alpam Karyam, Adhyayam Onnu Muthal, Varavelpu, Artham, Sasneham, Kalikkalam, Thalayanamanthram, Ennum Nanmakal, Kanalkkattu, Sandhesam, My Dear Muthachan, Samooham, Vinodayathra, Katha Thudarunnu, Sneha Veedu, etc.
He has won Filmfare Awards twice in the Best Film category and the Best Director category in 2003 for the film Manassinakkare, Asianet Film awards for the films Manassinakkare in 2003, Achuvinte Amma in 2005 and Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal in 1999, Mathrubhumi Best Director award for the film Rasathanthram in 2006 and the National Film Awards for the Best Feature Film in Malayalam in 2001 for the film Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal.
