Saradha Preetha Biography

Saradha Preetha is a former actress associated with Tamil and Malayalam cinema, known for playing supporting roles. She was active during 1990s, and done a few lead roles as well. She started her film journey as a child artist in the early 1980s before moved to adult roles in the 1990s. As a child artist, she was known as Baby Preetha in films. Rishi Moolam, Kattathe Kilikkoodu, Olangal etc are among her early releases. She played the parallel lead role of Kasturi in 1991 Tamil super hit film, En Rasavin Manasile for which she is known most.

Saradha Preetha started of her career in 1980 as a child artist. Rishi Moolam in 1980 was her first release. She was seen as one among the kids of very popular Malayalam film, Olangal in 1982, followed by Kattathe Kilikkoodu in 1983. She also appeared as Baby Preetha in 1985 Mammootty film, Yathra. After her appearance in Tamil film Aayiram Pookkal Malarattum in 1986, she took a break from the industry. As an adult actress she returned back to big screen in 1991 with En Rasavin Manasile, and was regular in Malayalam and Tamil movies till late 1990s. She had a glowing career till mid-1990s, and after playing a few less significant roles onscreen in the second half of 1990s, she disappeared from big screen.

Some of her noted Tamil films include En Rasavin Manasile, Chinna Pasanga Naanga, Manikuyil, Government Mappillai, Manathile Oru Paattu etc. She was last seen in Tamil film – Kondattam in 1998 where she played the brief role of Sarada. Kusruthikaatu, Siamese Irattakal, Gamanam, Poochakkaru Mani Kettum and Nandini Oppol are her Malayalam movies. She played the role of Dr.Sophy in 1997 Malayalam film, Siamese Irattakal.
