Santhosh Keezhattoor Biography

Santhosh Keezhattoor is a popular actor associated with Malayalam movies known for supporting roles. Most recently he gained attention through the popular roles he played in the movies – Pathemari, Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Urumbukal Urangarilla. Though known as a character artist of Malayalam cinema, he is a well-established theater artist associated with Malayalam Theater who has received many awards for his stage plays. In 2008 he received CN Sreekandan Nair Award for Best Stage Actor. He is a recipient of State Award for Best Stage Actor for the year 2006. He received the prestigious award for the play - Kottayathu thampuran. Most recently in 2015 he was awarded with IFA Dubai Best Performer award.

His real name is Santhosh Kumar and Keezhattoor tag is added to his name. He was born in Taliparamba of Kannur district in the year 1976. He is a model turned actor. During his early days he worked as a model, followed by TV shows as an anchor and a programme producer, before he became fully active with theatre. He was first seen on celluloid in the Telugu film, Chakram (2005) directed by Krishna Vamsi. It was an adaption of Bollywood blockbuster – Kal Ho Na Ho. Santhosh was fully active in theatre in those days.

Some of his stage plays include – Cheguera, Sakhavu, Bheegam Meri Biswas, Pazhassiraja, Sooryapettu, Kottayathu Thampuran, Cheguera and Innalekalile Aakasam. His most recent stage play is Pen Nadan staged in 2015. He was also seen in a short film - The Rain Tree, the same year. Since 2013, he is quite active in film scene too. Nadan, Urumbukal Urangarilla, Onnam Loka Mahayudham, Pathemari, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Vikramadithyan, Loham, Varsham etc are his noted appearances in recent times.
