Sanjeev Rajput Biography 
Sanjeev Rajput is an Indian shooter from Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. He won gold at Common Wealth Games 2018 in men's 50m Rifle 3 Position event. He is an Arjuna awardee too. He works with Indian Navy since the age of 18. 3 Gold and a Silver medal at SAF Games, Islamabad in 2004, 50m Free Rifle three-position and the 10m Air Rifle Champion of Champions events in 2005, Team Gold in Commonwealth Shooting Championship, Melbourne in March 2005 in 50m Rifle 3 position event, bronze medal in the Men's 50m Rifle Prone at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal in the 2006 Asian Games, Doha are his other major achievements.
Sanjeev was born in Yamunanagar, Haryana, on 5 January 1981. He schooled from SD Public School Jagadhri, Haryana. Currently he resides in Jagadhri. Joined Indian Navy as a sailor at the age of 18 he currently serves as MCPO II. As a shooter he came to limelight for the first time in 2004. In the national Championship Oct 2004 Sanjeev Rajput proved to be a new find. He won two finals at the final day of championship. He also registered 3 Gold and a Silver medal at SAF Games, Islamabad held the same year. He claimed numerous wins in the domestic circuit since then, and also represented India at 2008 Summer Olympics after registering a national record. But he failed to bring a medal to his home country. He couldn’t reach finals.
In Commonwealth Games 2018, Sanjeev Rajput smashed Games record to claim gold in 50m Rifle 3 Positions. 37-year-old Rajput shot 454.5 to bag the top prize after topping the qualification stage with 1180 points at the Belmont Shooting Centre. In the qualification, Rajput scored 391 in kneeling, 399 in prone and 390 in standing. In prone, Rajput shot three 100s and a 99. Rajput has previously won a silver in the same event at the 2014 Glasgow Games and also a bronze medal in the 2006 Games held in Melbourne.
