Sanika Nambiar Biography

Sanika Nambiar is an Indian film actress who predominantly works in Malayalam movies. She started her film journey as a child artist and later moved to adult roles. She played the child artist role of Rosemol' in "Olympian Anthony Adam" and 'Rudra' in "Agninakshathram", and both these ones remain her memorable roles as a child artiste. She is a successful model too and was crowned as the first runner up at the Miss Kerala 2012 contest. As an adult actress, she is best known for playing doe-eyed Oriya girl Suneyi in the Mollywood love story, Orissa. The movie directed by M. Padmakumar had Unni Mukundan and Sanika Nambiar appear on screen as the lead pair, and Kaniha and Tanusree Ghosh playing key roles.

 

Sanika hails from Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is a model turned actress who started her career as a child artist and later moved to lead role at a young age of 19 years. She participated in the Miss Kerala 2012 contest and was declared a runner-up. As a child, she always dreamt of becoming the 'Miss World’. She has also won the Miss Perfect award during the contest. Movies were always in her mind, and that’s why she took up the lead role in Malayalam flick, Orissa.

 

As a model, she is best known as a child model for the TV ad of John's umbrella since 1990s. She was also featured in Tender coconut water ad by Kerala State Government, where she appears as a girl who tastes the drops of tender coconut juice. As a film artist, she marked her film debut with 1999 Mohanlal starrer, Olympian Anthony Adam, where she played the memorable role of Rosemol, Nasser's daughter. She also won the best child artist award for her performance in the film.
