Sandeep Singh (film Producer) Biography

Sandeep Singh is a film producer associated with Bollywood. He, along with Bollywood director Omung Kumar started a film production house under the banner of Legend Studios, and has produced/co-produced many movies under this banner. He is associated with Bollywood since 2012, and has worked as an Associate Producer and Co-Producer in the industry for a few years, before he marked his debut as a full-fledged film producer with 2016 biopic, Sarbjit. Bhoomi in 2017 is his second film as a film producer. Both the movies opened to mixed reviews from critics, and fared only average at box office.

Sandeep Singh started his professional career as a journalist in the year 2000. As a journalist, he worked with Bombay Times and Navbharat Times. When ‘The Times of India’ daily started a new radio station named Radio Mirchi, Sandeep Singh was appointed as Entertainment Head of this radio station. Later he worked as a CEO of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions. He worked as an Associate Producer for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. Prior to this film, he has also worked as an Associate Producer for Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore in 2012, co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

As a co-producer he tasted success through his next project, Mary Kom released in 2014. The sports biopic drama starring Priyanka Chopra was a box office hit, marking his successful association with its director, Omung Kumar. Later they together formed a production house, Legend Studios, and produced two movies under this banner – Sarbjit and Bhoomi. Sarbjit starred Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles, while Bhoomi starred Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari.
