Sameer Khan (actor) Biography

Sameer Khan is an Indian actor associated with Bollywood in the 1960s. He appeared in less number of movies, and has played lead and parallel lead roles in quite a few of them. Though he was regular in movies, he remained highly unsuccessful, despite playing lead roles aside lead ladies of Bollywood. He played lead role opposite Mumtaz in Gomti Ke Kinare (1972) and Pyar Ka Rishta (1973). He belongs to a family with strong filmy background, and is the sibling of well-known actor-directors - Akbar Khan, Sanjay Khan and Feroz Khan.

Sameer belongs to the famous Khan family of yesterdays who made a mark in the Hindi film industry as film producers, directors and actors. However he is the less-known Khan brother of Feroz Khan family. While his brothers Akbar Khan, Sanjay Khan and Feroz Khan earned name and fame from Bollywood, Sameer failed in this case. He was talented and got some roles as well. Yet he went unnoticed in the early era of 1970s, which is best known for the movies of superstars like Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan.

Sameer Khan is known for Bollywood movies - Andhera (1975), Chori Chori (1972) and Qaid (1975), where he worked with his brothers. He is the uncle to Bollywood actors - Fardeen Khan and Zayed Khan, and also Suzanne Khan, former wife of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan. Sadiq Ali Khan Tanoli and Fatima Khan were his parents. Shahrukh Shah Ali Khan, Khurshid Shahnavar and Dilshad Bibi are his other siblings. Sussanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, Simone Arora, Sonia Sethia, Sabah Singh, Aliyah Khan, Sheba, Fathima and Shahala are his nieces.
